What Is Matrescence?

Matrescence is the transition into motherhood — physically, psychologically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. It leaves no part of you untouched. We rebuild our entire selves when we become a mum, and it keeps evolving. There is no end date - and it’s also not culturally or socially recognised… so there’s a pressure to “bounce back”.

Why You Feel Lost
