Why Work With Me

I'm Sally — a motherhood coach, accredited Mama Rising facilitator, and someone who has lived everything I support other mothers through.

I bring together over 15 years of experience supporting women through emotional and life transitions, drawing on my training in motherhood coaching, counselling, doula work, and early childhood — alongside deep personal study in attachment theory, nervous system science, parts work, and the mind-body connection.

But more than any qualification, what shapes my work is this: I've been where you are.

In 2023, burnout took me completely offline. Not metaphorically — my body literally stopped functioning. Multiple physical systems shut down and I couldn't look after my own children. I was a full-time, hyper-involved supermum with no village, no paid work, no break, and no one truly holding me. It took natural healthcare, medication, psychological work, and a complete reprogramming of the behavioural patterns I'd carried my whole life — the perfectionism, the people pleasing, the self-silencing — to find my way back.

I know what real burnout costs. And I know what it takes to come back from it.

That's why I do this work. Not from a textbook. From the inside.

My approach is trauma-aware, nervous system informed, and grounded in matrescence — the understanding that becoming a mother is one of the most profound identity transformations a woman will ever go through. Everything I offer is compassionate, practical, and completely free of judgement.

How is motherhood coaching different from therapy?

Therapy typically focuses on processing the past and treating clinical mental health conditions. Motherhood coaching focuses on the present and future — helping you understand your patterns, regulate your nervous system, and build practical tools for real life. Coaching empowers you to find your own answers with the support of a trained guide. If you're experiencing clinical depression, anxiety, or trauma, I'd always recommend working alongside a qualified mental health professional as well.

What is matrescence and why does it matter?

Matrescence is the psychological, emotional, and identity transformation that happens when a woman becomes a mother — similar in intensity to adolescence, but almost never talked about. Understanding matrescence can be genuinely life-changing for mums who feel like they've lost themselves, feel disconnected from who they used to be, or feel like motherhood is harder than it should be. It's not you. It's a profound transition that deserves real support. Matrescence education is woven through all of my coaching work.

What is burnout in motherhood and how do I know if I have it?

Motherhood burnout is a state of chronic physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged caregiving demands without adequate support. Common signs include constant exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, emotional numbness or shutdown, mum rage followed by guilt, feeling resentful or trapped, losing connection with yourself, and functioning on the outside while feeling close to breaking point on the inside. If several of these resonate, burnout coaching may be exactly the support you need.

What happens in a 1:1 coaching session?

Every session is held online via Zoom and runs for 60 minutes. We begin where you are — whatever is present for you that week. Sessions may include nervous system regulation tools, coaching conversations to unpack what you're carrying, matrescence and burnout education, and practical strategies tailored to your real life. You'll never be given generic advice. Everything is built around you, your family, and where you are right now.

How long does motherhood coaching take to work?

Many clients notice a shift in how they feel and respond within the first two to three sessions. Deeper, more lasting change — around nervous system regulation, patterns, and identity — typically develops over six to twelve weeks of consistent support. This is why I offer both a 6-week and 12-week package: some mums need a focused container to get moving, while others need more time and space to go deeper.

Do I have to be in crisis to reach out?

Absolutely not. Many mums begin coaching simply because they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or like something needs to change — long before they reach breaking point. In fact, the earlier you reach out, the easier it is to shift things before burnout fully sets in. You don't need to justify how bad things are. If something resonates here, that's enough.

Is online motherhood coaching as effective as in-person?

Yes — and for most mums, it's actually more accessible and more comfortable. You can join a session from your own home, in your own time, without travel or childcare logistics. Online coaching removes many of the practical barriers that stop mums from getting support. I understand that cost is a real consideration, especially for mums managing a family budget. There are a few ways I can help. Payment plans are available on all packages — just ask. There are also free resources available on the Freebies page. I never want cost alone to be the reason a mum doesn't get support.
